Pastor Mark Barrett
In 1988, Mark Barrett enlisted in the Royal Bahamas Police Force and upon his graduation was posted to the Southern Division (Southern Police Station). During 1989 he was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division (Central Detective Unit), there he attended numerous local and international courses to enhance his investigative skills. In 2001, Mark was promoted to the rank of Corporal and 2004 to the rank of Sergeant. Mark who is computer literate serves as systems manager and trainer within the Central Detective Unit, Royal Bahamas Police Force. He is a recipient of the Commissioner’s Commendation and at present he serves as a supervisor and is the officer in charge of the Cyber Crime/Quality Control Section. 1992 was a significant year in the life of Mark, it was on the 13th day of October that he felt a call on him and dedicated his life to the Lord Jesus at Calvary Deliverance Church (CDC). During August 1997, he was appointed a Minister and August 2001 an Elder in the church. He contributed significantly to the development of CDC and serve in many capacities e.g. usher and vice-president usher board; secretary of the men ministry; vice president and president of the youth ministry; church treasurer; ministry supervisor; executive secretary CDC church board and at present serving a second term as a board member. Mark Barrett attended the Assemblies of God Bible College (Nassau, Bahamas) and MI College (Nassau Bahamas) at present he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (First Class Honors) and is pursuing a Masters Degree also in Business administration. He is the father of two children, Marckell and Mark and is married to his loving confidant Merlande. Mark enjoys sports in his spare time and was a member of the Heastie’s Collegians Basketball team. His favorite song is “Three Little Birds” by the late Robert Lester Marley and his favorite scripture is psalms 34. |

Mark Barrett, the fourth child of five children was born on the island of New Providence through Tooth Shop Corner. At the age of four years he was admitted in the public school system and attended the T. Gibson Primary, T.G. Glover Junior High and later the C.C. Sweeting Sr. High School where he graduated in 1983 at the age of fifteen years and was amongst those who received top honors. Mark was also a member of the Royal Bahamas Cadet Crop and was one of the first recipients of the National Youth Award.
