Pastor Ricardo Clarke
He spent 11 years in the Insurance Industry with Family Guardian, where he was a part of management until his departure in 2008. Currently he is still making strides and working in the Insurance Industry, a people's business as he describes. In the latter part of 1998 he took over the Singles Ministry and with God's help effortlessly lead an excited group of young people. In 2000 he created the Massive Youth Group, whose aim was to encourage and extract the massive things that lied dormant in young people and with the inclusion of media, the arts and urban dance he began to introduce his brand of ministry. Over the years Ricardo has created many community workshops/concerts namely "Christ in Comedy", "Jubilee Jam", “Mission Male Seed” and “Camp 3:16” which were geared towards creating a platform and vehicle for positive and godly messages to be transmitted to the wider community. In 2002 he created the “Uprising Conference", which was geared toward empowering the unconventional and untapped forces. The conference which incorporated dance, media and other artistic elements became known for its unorthodox approach and became one of the largest gatherings for Youth in the Bahamas and has been instrumental in presenting an old message in a fresh way. Never to rest on his laurels he made a very painful decision to leave Massive Youth to pursue a music career. With his soulful tenor he penned the song “Last Days” that was featured on Dr Myles Munroe’s “Youth Alive” Soundtrack, and pushed him to the limelight not only nationally but regionally and in some parts of Africa, London and Europe. His debut album entitled “Uprising Vol. 1: Not Settlin” was released in January 2009, and is a testimony to Ricardo’s beliefs in the enlistment of the people and his commitment to encourage people to not settle in life. His powerful songs such as “Once I’m in Zion”,” Sound of Rain” and “Not Settling” are becoming anthems and leading persons to the Godly and Christ passion that drives him daily. Ricardo is married to A’yanna and together they are becoming a force locally and creating an Uprising in this generation. |
